Project:
Regional technical college growing at a significant rate for the past five years and projects increase in student numbers for 10-15 years - desired to consolidate several student focus services - currently scattered throughout the campus.

Details:
The student focused services of Financial Aid Assistance division; Counseling Services; Academic Advising; Job Placement/Coordination; and Accounting and Bursar office were targeted to be centralized into one location with distinct separations branching off from a central information point of entry. Given the sensitive nature of many of these divisions separation and isolation of sound was critical. Additionally physical security was a key element to be incorporated into and part of the design solution. A unique rotating wall served dual purposes: one was zone security, the other as a changing space allocation. With wall in open position it controlled flow in two directions and served as a backdrop for receptionists; in closed position it was an informational billboard.

A computer sub center, which was directly linked to the college's mainframe allowed for students to manage all registrations, accounts, academic issues from one location.
