Renovations & Adaptive Reuse
Client: Bethesda Temple Apostolic Church
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Project:
Main facility consisted of Sanctuary wing and an educational wing built eight years apart. Poor quality construction and lack of deferred maintenance over the years had created some complicated deteriorating conditions. A questionable state of being a "sick building" provided immediate concern at getting this symptom and other functional, operational challenges improved on or eliminated. Facilities not only were having consistent and frequent systems failures, it had mounting code and ADA non-compliant issues.
Details:
A complete Architectural/Engineering service was engaged to thoroughly analyze existing conditions. All areas of the facilities were involved to some degree. The sanctuary alter/choir area were expanded and enhanced towards acoustically and visually improving on all services held in this large volume of space. The fellowship hall underwent a dramatic change by it's ceiling clouds, flooring pattern, and architectural woodwork. New lighting provides various moods as well as levels of ambience.
