The religious project type can be as varied as the many disciplines of worship and fellowship. It stands through time as one of the most challenging project types to bring forth successfully; due in part to the multiplicity of opinions, under one roof, as to what their specific project is or wants to be. If one measures the true test of a good architect is may be when the project is completed he/she has successfully: formulated a program; designed practically yet spiritually uplifts spaces; met the project's budget face to face; and have not lost his/her or client's faith in the process.
Over the last 25 years, FWAS has served as architects on over 22 different church projects. These projects ranged from: feasibility studies; master planning; facility needs assessment; energy analysis; minor additions; comprehensive renovations; major multi-phased additions; to completely new facilities. Through it all the architecture has become more creative and quite vibrant even when faced with austere budgets. The end designs and projects are true testimonials to our church clients and clergy who give us their permission to elevate and take their worship building through evolution by challenging traditions and bringing forth new identities, which has at times enhance the faith of all those (architects and clients) involved
