Adaptive Reuse & Renovations & System Upgrades
Client: Miami University
Location: Oxford, Ohio
Project:
Involves the complete upgrading and renovations for a 15,000 SF. Building containing: existing chemistry classrooms and laboratories, administrative, and program operational support areas.
Details:
The adaptive reuse of space dictated conversion of storage spaces into new laboratories and classrooms into staff offices. The delivery dock with its adjacent storage areas had to incorporate a high level of security sequence and controls for the sensitive chemicals and materials being utilized within the academic program classes.
Building required structural modifications, as well as installation of new elevators and the removal of handicap barriers to make the building more in compliance with ADA regulations and requirements.
