830 Dayton St. (The Hauck House)

Client: The Hatch Folly
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Project:
Client acquired one of the most prominent historical townhouses plus carriage house on the Historical Dayton St. This large stone faced building had gone through years of neglect and change of ownership. The Historical significance required sensitive and technically capable professionals to assist in this rehabilitation process.

Details:
The first phase of work required for the replacement of all roofs, gutters, and downspouts; restoration of street facing curved window units; repair and stabilization of masonry surfaces and structures; with wood panel shutters at windows, many had to be replaced due to missing or deterioration beyond repair. The window and panel shutter work required the hiring of specialists. Architects worked with these craftsmen in their shops to ensure accurate replacement pieces.

Irony - Mr. Alexander worked on developing drawings for this building nearly 40 years ago while working for Historical American Building Survey (HABS) in Washington, DC. national office.
